30 Day Call To Prayer
As you live on MISSION, know that prayer is the work and the MISSION is the overflow of that time of prayer.
Prayer and Fasting Effort
A few things before we get started:
- Please do the suggested prayers each day for 30 days, and do it in partnership with one or two other believers (by phone, face to face, video chat, etc.)
- Choose to fast from something for those 30 days. Examples: All media, only social media, soda, sugar, etc. When you want to do that thing, whatever it is, go spend time with Jesus.
- Choose to fast once a week (4 or 5 times total) from food for 24 hours (6pm-6pm). When you get hungry, go pray!
Why are we doing this?
We need to intercede now more than ever. The world and culture are rapidly changing. We want spiritual momentum to be built. Only God can do that. We want breakthroughs, chains broken, lives trusting in Christ, etc. Again, only God can do that!
This prayer/fasting effort is a declaration to God that we are powerless to create this kind of momentum, and it is a declaration to God that only He can create this momentum, cause chains to fall off, and produce lasting life change.
Read Mark 9:14-29. In this passage, Jesus does a miracle that the disciples can’t. He explains to them this only comes out by prayer and fasting. Tell God the miracles that you want to see Him do. Declare to Him your powerlessness to make it happen. Commit to pray daily for those miracles. Commit to fast from something for 30 days (all media, only social media, soda, sugar, etc.). Commit to fasting from food one day a week during this 30 day prayer effort.
Read Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). In this passage, Jesus is teaching us how to pray. When we pray, we are crying out to God as our Father. We can’t see God as Father because of the pain they have in their heart towards their earthly father. As you pray to your Heavenly Father, remind Him of the miracles you want to see done, and ask Him to even now, begin comforting your “Father Wounds”.
Read Matthew 6:9-13 again (The Lord’s Prayer). Cry out to your Heavenly Father! Beg Him to do the miraculous! When Jesus teaches us to pray, He says pray, “Hallowed Be Your Name”. Praise the Name of our God. Start listing off different names of our God, like Yahweh or Messiah. Play some worship music you have downloaded and just sing praise to His Name!
Again, Read Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Praise the Name of our God. Acknowledge that He is a good Father! Ask Him to do the miraculous. Be specific! Now let’s focus on, “Your Kingdom Come”. In this portion, we invite you to consider what the Kingdom of God will look like in Heaven. In Heaven, we will experience Jesus’ presence and power all the time. When we pray “Your Kingdom Come”, we are proclaiming to Jesus that we want a fresh touch of His presence and power. Pray this for your life!
Continue reading Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Praise the Name of our Heavenly Father. Keep crying out for the miraculous to be done. Tell Jesus you want to experience His presence and power in a fresh way today. Ask that His power would fall on your life. Let’s now look at “Your Will Be Done”. Imagine what Heaven will be like. Everything we do will be pleasing to God. We will always desire His will. Declare to Him that you want to do His will. Ask Him that His will be done!
Once again, look at Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Praise the Name of the Father. Beg for miracles. Tell Jesus you want His presence and power to reign so that His will may be done. Let’s focus on “Give us today our daily bread”. We are praying, God, give us what we need today. Pray God would give you what you need today. Pray in advance that God would give you what you need over the coming days, weeks, and months.
One more time, look at Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Sing praise to Father God. Cry out for the miraculous. Ask Jesus to overwhelm you with His presence and power today. Declare to God “Your will be done”! Ask God to give you what you need for today so you are prepared to lead. Let’s now focus on forgiveness. Confess your sin to God and experience the power of His forgiveness in Jesus. Ask God to help you forgive those who have wronged you. You don’t want to carry bitterness.
Last time, look at Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Praise the Father. Beg for miracles. Request of the Lord that His Kingdom come. Pray for His will to be done, even if His will is hard to swallow. Ask God for what you need for today. Ask Him to give you a daily dependence. Confess sin. Experience forgiveness. Give forgiveness away. Finally, let’s look at “lead us not into temptation, but deliver us”. Pray, “Lord, give me the power to run from temptation every day.” Ask God to protect from the forces of darkness. Intercede intensely on this point!!!!!
For The Next Week: Start with asking for the miraculous
Pray the Lord’s prayer and look at Ephesians 6:10-18 (Armor of God). Ask God to help you stand firm against the attack
of the enemy. Ask God for courage to stand firm. Ask God to give you resolve to stand firm. Stand! Stand! Stand!!! Let’s also focus on the belt of truth. We are constantly bombarded with lies from culture and the forces of darkness. Pray that God would fasten the Belt of Truth around your waist so you can be led to Truth and others to truth.
Remember to start by praying the Lord’s Prayer. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 (Armor of God). Stand against temptation! Pray you would stand firm! Pray a Belt of Truth would be around your waist. The Breastplate of Righteousness guards our hearts. Christ imparted His righteousness to us. This is our identity. Pray that the truth of your identity in Jesus would guard your heart. Pray that Christ would start a work so that we would let Christ alone be what identifies us so our hearts can be protected from the Evil One!
Continue praying the Lord’s Prayer. Read Ephesians 6:10- 18 (Armor of God) again. Pray that God would empower you to stand firm. Pray you would be grounded in God’s Truth. Ask God to cover yourself with the Breastplate of Righteousness (the truth of our identity in Christ). Ask God to lay on your heart those who do not know Him. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of these people to hear the Gospel. Pray that God would protect the forces of darkness from attacking to prevent these Gospel conversations from happening.
Start by praying the Lord’s prayer. Look at Ephesians 6:10- 18 (Armor of God). STAND FIRM against the Evil One. Put on the truth of your Identity in Christ. Pray that it would protect your heart. Pray that God would give you Gospel
conversations. Take up the Shield of Faith. The forces of darkness will shoot flaming arrows at you. Collectively, we must take up our shield and have faith as those arrows come. Pray that God would strengthen your faith during attack. Don’t be surprised when they come, and don’t fight the attacks on your own. Lean on other followers of Jesus, and let the Lord extinguish the flaming arrows.
Start with the Lord’s Prayers, and then read Ephesians 6:10- 18 (Armor of God). Stand firm, get that Belt of Truth, put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, grab those Gospel of Peace shoes, and hold high the Shield of Faith. Place the Helmet of Salvation on your head. Christ imparted His righteousness to us, and that protects our heart. The truth of our salvation, that Jesus rescued us, protects our mind. We are flooded with all kinds of garbage from culture. We need to see how the Gospel protects our mind. We need to see how our salvation literally keeps our brain from harm. Pray for those that don’t know Jesus that their eyes
would be enlightened to Salvation in Jesus for the first time. Pray that we would have an even greater understanding of the truth of our “Salvation Experience”.
Where do we begin? Lord’s Prayer. Where do we go next? Ephesians 6:10-18 (Armor of God). Pray through these parts of the armor (Stand Firm, Belt, Breastplate, Shoes, Shield, Helmet). Take up that Sword of the Spirit. The Sword is the Word of God. We do not know God’s Word as well as we could. Pray that God would give us a hunger for the Word. Pray that God would help us see the value of being in His Word. Pray that God would show us that His Word is literally life to us.
Pray through the Lord’s Prayer. Pray through the Armor of God (Stand Firm, Belt, Breastplate, Shoes, Shield, Helmet, Sword). Read Ephesians 6:18. We must pray in the power of the Holy Spirit!!! For God to move, His Spirit must fall. Pray in the power of His Spirit. Pray for His Spirit to fall. Pray that God would give you a greater dependence on the Holy Spirit. Commit to pray like this. If His Spirit does not move, then all our efforts are in vain.
FOR THE NEXT 15 Days:
Start with asking for the miraculous, then Lord’s Prayer and Armor of God):
Read Psalm 91. Pray that we would find refuge in God alone. As the Enemy tries to attack, pray that we would be saved by God and covered by His feathers. Pray this kind of protection! Ask God to command His angels to come and provide protection over you. Pray that we would have a very real sense that Yahweh God is with us.
Read Nehemiah 1. Nehemiah wanted to rebuild the wall, but before he attempted great things for God, he repented!
Is there any unconfessed sin in your life? Confess it to God! Confess it to others (James 5:16). God will only restore the church in our nation if we have a heart to repent like Nehemiah. Pray for Godly sorrow and real repentance. Pray that God would not just give individual repentance, but corporate repentance. Pray we would confess sin, run to Jesus only, and then ask the Lord for big things for your church and your city, and ultimately the nations!
You have been asking for the miraculous. The greatest miracle of all is the resurrection of Jesus. Read Mark 15 and 16. Read Philippians 2:5-11. Be reminded of the greatest love story and miracle in history. Thank the Lord for how Christ’s resurrection rescued you! Pray the names out loud that you know need to have their hearts resurrected, just as Christ was resurrected. Beg God for their salvation. Cry over them. “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” (Psalm 126:5)
Read John 11:1-45. Jesus does an incredible miracle in this passage as He raises Lazarus from the dead. Before He raises Lazarus, He weeps with Mary and comforts her. You have been praying for the miraculous and are in need of the miraculous. We all have a ton of pain in our lives. Ask God to help you be loved on and comforted. Ask God to weep with you through the deep pain of your life. Why? Then our hearts will be more prepared for that miracle!
Read John 11:1-45 again. Reflect on the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Think of all the miracles that you have been asking God for these past few weeks. Think of the power of God that raised Lazarus. Praise Him that He is that powerful! Declare that you trust Him to move that powerfully. Ask Him to resurrect hearts that are spiritually dead.
Read Mark 5:21-43. In this story, Jesus does 2 miracles. The woman just needed to get near Jesus for the miraculous to occur. Do you need to draw more near to Jesus? Does God have people in your life that He wants to draw near to Himself? In the other miracle people laughed when Jesus proclaimed she was only sleeping. Who in your life is a long shot for the Kingdom? There is no way they could come to know Christ.
God works best when the deck is stacked. Thank Him that this is who He is. Plead with God to bring the “Long Shots” to Himself that He might resurrect them.
Read Ezekiel 37:1-14. The last few days we have been reading about death brought to life. We have been praying for the spiritually dead to be brought to life. This passage shows how only God can breathe life into that which is dead. Remind God of the miracles you are asking for. Make a declaration that you are trusting in Him and only Him to breathe life into the spiritually dead. Those dry bones became an army. Ask God to raise up an army for Him!
Read Joshua 6. Today we will be focusing on walls that need to be knocked down. Only God could miraculously knock the walls of Jericho down, and only God can knock the walls down that surround our hearts. Ask God to reveal the walls that surround your heart. Ask God to knock these walls down. Beg Him to do this. Plead with Him.
Read Mark 5:1-20. In this passage, Jesus casts a legion of demons out of a man. When we go throughout our lives, we are doing battle with the forces of darkness. Reflect on the Lord’s Prayer and the Armor of God here. We must war against the demonic for the souls of people. Ask the Lord who to war for in prayer today. Ask the Lord to do a Mark 5 type miracle. The man in Mark 5 told others how Jesus had changed His life. Ask the Lord to do a work that carries over into next week, next month, next year. Pray that we would be compelled to tell our family, friends, and city about Jesus. Ask God to let this build momentum that goes all the way to impacting the nations!
Read Mark 7:31-37. In this passage, Jesus heals a deaf and mute man. Maybe God has gifted you to speak the truth of the Gospel, but God needs to touch your tongue so you can speak. Ask God to do this in you. Ask God to give you confidence and boldness to proclaim the Gospel. Maybe your ears are dull to the truth of the Gospel. Maybe you have heard it your whole life, but you have never received it. Ask God to touch your ears so that yoy may have ears that can hear!
Read Mark 10:46-52. In this text, Jesus heals a blind man. Maybe you have been blinded by the lies of the Enemy. Because you have been blinded, you are unaware this is going on. Ask God to help you identify these lies. Ask God to open your eyes that you may see!
Read Mark 10:27-31. In these verses a man cannot forsake what is most important to him to follow Jesus. This is idolatry. Many of us are bowing down to all kinds of things that aren’t Jesus. We need to lay these down, and God will give us opportunities to do this. Ask God to help you identify the idols of your hearts. Plead with God that His Holiness would be seen. Plead with the Lord that His Kindness would be seen. Plead with Him that His beauty would be seen. Ask God to destroy these idols in our hearts.
Read Acts 8:26-40. God took Philip out of his way to meet the Ethiopian Eunuch. Philip led that man to Christ. Are there people that God may specifically be leading you to? Will you, like Philip, need to go out of your way to find them? Ask God to bring these people to mind. Ask God to give you boldness and courage to go after them. Ask God to help you be creative.
Read Acts 9:19. Do you know anyone like Saul/Paul? Are they hostile to the Gospel? God could raise them up to have tremendous impact on the Kingdom! Ask God in faith to draw them to Himself. Pray with boldness. Trust God for His will to be done.
Read Luke 10:1-7. Ask God to lead you to a “Person of Peace”. Ask God to save this “Person of Peace”. This “Person of Peace” could be someone who welcomes the truth of the Gospel for themselves and who potentially would have great influence over others. Pray that this person would start a movement in your city that would impact nations for the sake of the Kingdom of God!
